Healers Helping Heroes, Success

On Saturday, May 14th, 2011, West Coast Ultrasound Institute held its first annual Healers Helping Heroes event at the Ontario Satellite campus. The event served to honor the heroes who have fought, and continue to fight, for our freedom.  It also honored our brave policemen and firefighters who put their lives at risk each day. Healers Helping Heroes serves to provide the support that our heroes need.  Services included various health screenings provided free of charge courtesy of Ontario Family Medical Center and West Coast Ultrasound Institute.

The event was directed by West Coast Ultrasound Institute’s own Kevin Cornett, an Army Reservist who also serves as an instructor for the Vocational Nursing program. West Coast Ultrasound Institute provided the following free screenings:

  • Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Ultrasound
  • Cardiac Ultrasound Evaluation
  • EKG
  • Carotid Ultrasound Screenings
  • ABI (Ankle Brachial Index) Evaluations

The Ontario Family Medical Center provided Free Cholesterol Screenings as well as a free medical evaluation.

Myra Chason, CEO of West Coast Ultrasound Institute, received certificates of appreciation from Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve. The awards included the Patriotic Employer Award, the Above and Beyond Award, and the highly esteemed Seven Seals Award.
