West Coast Ultrasound Institute Celebrates Student Heroes on Campus

West Coast Ultrasound Institute Celebrates Student Heroes on Campus:

West Coast Ultrasound Institute rallies to honor students who saved doctor’s life

PHOENIX, Arizona – On Saturday, January 10 at 10am., West Coast Ultrasound Institute (WCUI) held a rally in honor of seven students whose combined efforts saved a doctor’s life on January 3. The rally took place at the school, located at 4250 E. Camelback Road, building K, suite 190 in Phoenix, and included recognition of the students’ quick reaction and heroic effort.

Three students from the Diagnostic Medical Imaging program at WCUI identified a man lying unconscious and not breathing outside of the campus at approximately 1pm on January 3.  The students assessed the man and called 911 for help.  In the meantime, four students from the Cardiovascular Echosonography program began taking turns performing chest compressions on the man until emergency personnel arrived.  While the students were performing the chest compressions, the man began breathing on his own.  It has been confirmed that this gentleman will fully recover.  WCUI is very proud of the valiant effort by all parties involved.

About the College:  WCUI is a privately owned, post-secondary vocational institute.  The college offers Associates of Occupational Science degrees in Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Cardiovascular Echosonography, and Magnetic Resonance Imaging.  They also offer a unique, advanced diploma in Pediatric Cardiac Ultrasound and Congenital Heart Disease to graduates of a Cardiovascular program.
