VIRTUAL APPOINTMENTS

Our Admissions and Financial Aid teams are bringing the admissions process to you! Smith Chason College has virtual appointments available so you can learn more about our ultrasound and MRI programs, funding your education, and begin the enrollment process from home. Our admissions team will help you figure out the ideal program to set you on the right path for your future. HOW DO I START ENROLLING?

We can’t wait to help you achieve your new career! To join Smith Chason College’s WCUI Medical Imaging, prospective students will take a virtual or in-person tour of the facility and schedule a virtual interview with an Admissions Representative. During the virtual interview, our Admissions Representative will go through crucial information about Smith Chason College including, our history, disclosures of completion, placement and graduation rates, tuition payment plans, and your professional educational goals. Registry Pathways

GENERAL ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS

All Applicants Must

  • Be at least 17 years of age
  • Set an appointment with an Admissions Representative for an interview and to tour the campus
  • Complete an Enrollment Application.
  • Submit proof of having graduated from an accredited high school or the equivalent (see examples below) 
  • Submit a copy of an unexpired valid government-issued photo ID (driver’s license or an identification card)
  • Complete a criminal background check
  • Be able to read, speak, and write English
  • Complete a Personal Statement
  • Pass the entrance examination
  • Upon acceptance, sign an Enrollment Agreement and submit a $100.00 Registration Fee (refundable within 3 days after signing the Enrollment Agreement)

Acceptance into the programs is conditional upon meeting all deadlines to complete funding paperwork. 

If enrollments exceed class availability, files will be reviewed by the campus director and notification of acceptance or denial will be mailed within 2 weeks prior to your scheduled start date. 

Applicants enrolling in the programs offered by Smith Chaosn’s WCUI school must show proof of having graduated from either an accredited high school or the equivalent recognized by the US Department of Education. The following are some examples: 

  • High school diploma or high school transcript 
  • General Education Diploma (GED) or State Equivalent Test 
  • State tests (also referred to as state-authorized examinations) such as the High School Equivalency Test (HiSET) or the Test Assessing Secondary Completion (TASC), as well as those established by states—for example the California High School Proficiency Exam (CHSPE) 
  • Foreign secondary diploma translated and evaluated (at the applicant’s expense) by an evaluation agency approved by the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) 
  • An academic transcript showing that the student has successfully completed at least a two-year program that is acceptable for full credit toward a bachelor’s degree (including a previously earned bachelor’s degree)

ACCREDITATION AND APPROVALS

Smith Chason College and its schools, including WCUI School of Medical Imaging and Smith Chason School of Nursing are nationally accredited by Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges. (ACCSC)

Approved by the Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education (BPPE) to provide educational services in the State of California. Approval to operate means the institution is compliant with the minimum standards contained in the California Private Postsecondary Education Act of 2009 (as amended) and Division 7.5 of Title 5 of the California Code of Regulations.

Licensed by the Arizona State Board for Private Postsecondary Education (AZPPSE) to provide educational services in the state of Arizona.

Approved by the U.S. Department of Education (USDE) to administer Title IV Federal Financial Aid to those students who qualify.

Approved by the Arizona Department of Veterans’ Education (AZDVS) and approved for the training of Veterans and eligible persons under the provisions of Title 38.

Approved for the training of active-duty service members through the Department of Defense’s (DoD) Military Tuition Assistance Program (TA).

Authorized under Federal law to enroll non-immigrant alien students through the United States Department of Homeland Security, SEVP – Student and Exchange Visitor Program.

Smith Chason College’s Academic Associates of Science in Magnetic Resonance Imaging program is programmatically accredited by ARMRIT.

Smith Chason College’s Phoenix campus is a certified Veterans Supportive Campus.

Smith Chason College is not regulated by the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC), Chapter 132 of the Tex. Educ. Code 132.202. Smith Chason College is approved to operate by the California Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education (BPPE). Approval to operate means the institution is compliant with the minimum standards contained in the California Private Postsecondary Education Act of 2009, as amended, and Division 7.5 of Title 5 of the California Code of Regulations (California campuses). The Phoenix campus is approved to operate in the state of Arizona by the Arizona State Board for Private Postsecondary Education (AZPPSE). Please refer to the catalog on how to file a complaint with the applicable state regulatory agencies (BPPE/AZPPSE).

TRANSFER STUDENTS

Smith Chason accepts transfer credit based on equivalent coursework. The Registrar and/or the Director of Education will determine equivalency. Refer to Transfer Credit Policy located in the catalog.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

Smith Chason College is not accepting international students at this time, however, we are working on accepting students soon!

Smith Chason is authorized under Federal law to enroll non-immigrant alien students.

International students must also complete or provide the following after they have been accepted for enrollment in order to receive the I-20 form to apply for an F-1 or M-1 student visa:

  • A Confidential Statement of Finances: An official letter, or bank statement, must be submitted certifying that there are enough funds available for one academic year of tuition and living expenses
  • Payment of the first 6 months of tuition in advance
  • A copy of their passport
  • A copy of the I-94 card/printout
  • Take a TOEFL test used to measure English skills and pass with a score of 62 or higher or submit proof of English Language proficiency
  • A translated and evaluated (at the applicant’s expense) foreign secondary diploma
